I do a lot of in the field sales at homes and see many things that can be helpful to insured's out. Here are some of these things. If you own a dog that will bite anyone anytime for any reason and do not report this to your insurance company, you most probably will not be covered if that dog injures a visitor or a neighbor.
If you have trash piled up on your front porch blocking the entry way to the home this is a safety hazard that could be avoided by moving this to the top of the hill in an appropriate trash bin to be brought to the land fill.
If you own a mobile home and you have added onto your dwelling and the home is no longer spec to the manufacturer code, you will need to tell your insurance carrier about this. Many will not do standard coverage on a manufactured home that has been altered like this.
If you own an older mobile home and placed a wood burning stove in it, YOU MUST report this to the insurance company to see if you are still covered without an amendment to the policy. Got questions>>>>I can get the answers. And one other thing. If you have a trampoline in your front yard and do not have a separate policy for it , the chances of you being covered when the friend next door comes over and jumps on it and falls off is dependent upon if your company provides insurance for trampolines. CHECK! If you are not covered for this and a accident happens you may not be covered.
