Those that are free spirits that are great salespeople.. I have some news. If you are looking for the newest greatest thing to do. Make sure you do not choose insurance sales. It really doesn't matter how good of a salesperson you are or how many customers that like you in the insurance business.
In insurance, the insurance companies hold all the power and all the keys. If you do not conform to their red tape and the bullshit of some nerd back at the nerdery, you will never get a policy sold. You will have a couple of trees worth of copy paper just sitting around waiting on some dumbass back at the company you got appointed with to get off their high horse and do their fucking job.
I can't remember a day of being in this business that there wasn't level 8 contempt. Insurance companies that write any business at all protect the companies that "grew up" in the business with them by blocking out new companies.
Of course, back in the day, there were no ridiculous sales quotas because back in those days, just getting the sales is what was important. Today. Not the case. The stock market and 100 middlemen own most of the insurance companies so there is no room for too many sales. So let's just keep it in the club here and let the other companies coming up figure it out/ These companies that put ridiculous sales goals on companies in order to lock them out. I think it's time for a class-action lawsuit against them, I know I want my 250k back that I have thrown down the toilet being in this biased and corrupt business.
If you are a smart business person you will hear my words. The Property Casualty insurance industry is full of good ole boy clubs. Special treatment for select companies and not near enough insurance companies to go around for all the agencies in this business.
